Sunshine Nights speak to Richard Winham for Live In The Library.

Sunshine Nights is a trio based in Brooklyn. Amy Priya plays bass and sings with her partner Stephen Sunshineplaying guitar and banjo and singing with her. Steve Smith played guitar and mandolin with them on this tour. They came to town to play in the MACC on Signal Mountain. They typically spend a better part of the year on the road putting in around 100 shows a year on America's East coast, West coast, and here in the South as well as Western Europe.

Writing about their music on their website, they describe their songs as “a charming union of styles, a dichotomy of the old and new, indie folk sentiment blended with old time blues, bluegrass and a tinge of traditional jazz influence.”

“If Lou Reed was a folkie, he would have sounded like this,” wrote one reviewer.
