(aired Thu 6/23/22)

This month, we’ve brought you a series of conversations with the Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts and Ideas.

The multi-day festival celebrates Juneteenth through the extraordinary contributions of artists of African descent in the arts.

Tomorrow night, starting at 7 PM, Sadiqua Iman will be workshopping her original play - “And Then Freedom” - at The Howard School.

On Saturday night, the festival concludes with the “Shades of Poetry Showcase Featuring Young Black Voices: A Tribute to James Baldwin” - starting at 7 PM at Chattanooga Theatre Centre.

I spoke with Ric Morris, the festival’s founder and CEO - and Sadiqua Iman.
