The Marching Mocs are the marching band on our campus, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Each year, the band performs at home games at Finley Stadium and select away games for Mocs football.

Last week, in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall at UTC’s Fine Arts Center, the Marching Mocs received an official invitation to perform during London’s New Year’s Day Parade and Festival.

When 2023 turns to 2024, they will join thousands of performers who will ring in the new year on the streets of London.

Among the dignitaries who presented the invitation to the Marching Mocs last week here at UTC: Duncan Sandys, former Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster - home to the center of political power in London - and the great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, who led the United Kingdom as Prime Minister through World War II.

Also on hand: Professor Randall Coleman, Director of Bands and a Professor of Music here at UTC.
