Bomani Armah - a.k.a. Baba Bomani - is a poet, producer, hip-hop MC and a Kennedy Center teaching artist.

He’s based in Prince George’s County, Maryland - and next month, he visits Chattanooga for this year’s Chattanooga Hip-Hop Summit.

On Saturday, October 14th, starting at 10:30 AM, he will present a workshop “Integrating Hip-Hop in the Classroom” - in partnership with ArtsBuild - at The Edney Innovation Center.

I spoke with Bomani; Amy Lowdermilk, programs manager for ArtsBuild - and Kelly Shimel, fine arts coordinator for Hamilton County Schools.
