Food For Thought: Telling Stories Through Words And Images

“Feel it. Feel what they are doing. Feel the wind.

Food is opening up this door for me.

It’s an avenue, a travel ticket, a passport, a means to the end.

There are ghosts and memories in his kitchen.

You could lay all your burdens down and dine together.”

Those words are part of Food for Thought: an invitational group exhibit that tells stories about food through words and images - set to open this fall at the Jewish Cultural Center here in Chattanooga, in partnership with the local media startup Food as a Verb.

An open call for people to submit their images for the exhibit ends on Monday, August 5th.

Ann Treadwell is with the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga.

David Cook is co-founder and main writer of Food as a Verb.
