Each year, soon after the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, our campus - the University of Tennessee - hosts its own reflection on the life and legacy of the civil rights leader.
This year, UTC will hold an MLK Day commemorative brunch with the theme “Remembering the Past and Embracing the Future” - on Friday, starting at 11 AM, in the Tennessee Room at the University Center on campus.
The brunch will feature a conversation with Dr. Michael Williams, director of UTC’s Africana Studies Program and a professor of history - and Elijah Cameron, director of community relations and development at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center.
