Jazz pianist Alan Broadbent was born in New Zealand.
A two-time Grammy winner, he’s known for his work as a soloist, a leader, a composer and an arranger.
Next week, Alan performs a solo piano concert here on our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - on Thursday the 11th starting at 7:30 PM at the Roland Hayes Concert Hall in UTC’s Fine Arts Center.
The concert is made possible by a gift from Ken Dryden, host of “Timeless Jazz” here on WUTC and our former colleague at the station - and his wife Nancy.
All proceeds from the concert benefit WUTC.
I spoke with Alan and Ken.
