“Literacy across the community” is one of the goals at Chattanooga 2.0.
Two years ago, the nonprofit piloted a Literacy First tutoring model with AmeriCorps - the national service program - at East Side Elementary in Chattanooga.
Since then, Hamilton County Schools has expanded the effort, which continues this year as Chattanooga 2.0 recruits tutors to help kids learn to read at four elementary schools: Calvin Donaldson, East Side, Hardy and Spring Creek.
