More than a decade ago, Steven Kline began classes here on our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - where he learned UTC owns and operates an observatory.
Just off Brainerd Road, the Clarence T. Jones Observatory has scanned the night sky since opening its doors in 1938.
As a student, Steven volunteered for star parties and other events at the Observatory, graduating from UTC in 2014.
Two years ago, he became the planetarium director at the Observatory - and last month, he started a new job as the Observatory’s director.
