(Aired Mon 10/20/25)

In the 1980s, the nonprofit Chattanooga Venture engaged thousands of residents - and the results revitalized this city.

Just a few examples: the Tennessee Aquarium, River City Company, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, the Association for Visual Arts, the Child Advocacy Center, the Public Education Foundation and the Room in the Inn.

Now, the Chattanooga Venturing Study Group is presenting a series of speakers to revisit that era - and its lessons for Chattanooga today and in the future.

On Thursday, Bob Corker - former Chattanooga Mayor and former U.S. Senator from Tennessee - will be the next speaker in the series, starting at 1 PM at the Tennessee Aquarium.

Dr. Greg Laudemann is co-organizer of the Chattanooga Venturing Study Group.
