Nature is the classroom at a school at the foot of Lookout Mountain.
The Wauhatchie School - known as a “forest school” - offers an immersive education in the outdoors for preschool, kindergarten, first grade and home school students - to spur learning and connect with nature.
This weekend, the group Shadowgrass will headline a concert for the school - on Sunday at 7 PM at Barrelhouse Ballroom in downtown Chattanooga.
Lauren Lytle is director of operations at Wauhatchie.
Dawson Morris, who is organizing the concert, is the parent of two children at the school.
