(Aired Mon 2/23/26)

On the last Saturday in January, Preserve Chattanooga - the historic preservation nonprofit in this city - hosted a conversation at what it called “the intersection of preservation and artistic expression.”

It took place at AVA - The Association for Visual Arts - where an exhibit about Chattanooga’s architectural landscape was on display, titled: “Ghosts in the Walls: Preservation as Memory.”

I served as the moderator for the conversation, which we bring you for this episode of “Scenic Roots.”

Dr. Dana Moody, who teaches interior architecture and design here on our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - introduces the conversation.

On the panel:

  • Todd Morgan, executive director of Preserve Chattanooga
  • Cassie Cline, historic preservation planner for the City of Chattanooga
  • Melissa Mortimer, historic preservation specialist
  • Delton Chen, president of Preserve Chattanooga.
