Last week, Chattanooga hosted its annual Armed Forces Day Parade.
The U.S. Coast Guard - which is funded under the Department of Homeland Security - was honored as originally planned, hours after President Trump signed a bipartisan bill to fund DHS.
Just before the parade began, I spoke with retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Jeff Spivey, a native of East Ridge; Captain Randy Preston with the U.S. Coast Guard and Congressman Chuck Fleischmann at The Read House in downtown Chattanooga.
