Securities executive Harry Markopolos says it took him only about five minutes to spot a giant investment fraud that he says federal regulators couldn't detect. Markopolos testified before Congress Wednesday on an alleged pyramid scam operated by Bernard Madoff that cost investors more than $50 billion.

AIG Asks Recipients To Give Back Part Of Bonus
House lawmakers grilled AIG Chief Executive Edward Liddy on Wednesday about the $165 million in bonuses paid out to executives at the firm. AIG is a major bailout beneficiary, and the bonuses have provoked outrage from congressional members as well as the public. Liddy says he has asked some of the employees to return part of the bonus.
