Theatre is more than an art - it’s also a business.

It takes a creative skillset to turn what’s on the stage into business, so the show that must go on does go on.

This fall, students on our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga - will have the chance to enroll in a new concentration in theatre entrepreneurship, thanks to a collaboration between UTC’s Department of Performing Arts and the Gary W. Rollins College of Business.

Steve Ray is associate head of the performing arts department and artistic director of the UTC Theatre Co.

Tom Lyons is the Clarence E. Harris Chair of Excellence in Entrepreneurship - and professor in marketing and entrepreneurship - at the Rollins College of Business.

Blake Harris is a UTC alum - and artistic director of the theatre company Obvious Dad.
