In Northwest Georgia, a quick drive from Dalton also brings you to the Bard.

The Conasauga Shakespeare Coalition presents “Romeo & Juliet” at Prater’s Mill, down the road from Varnell, this Friday and Saturday - and next Friday and Saturday - starting at 8 PM.

The director is Steve Ray, who heads the theatre program here on our campus - the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The setting - typically Verona, Italy in the 14th or 15th Century - is instead the late 1700’s, before the Revolutionary War.

Jared Doreck plays Mercutio, Romeo’s friend.

Lane Davies - the Coalition’s artistic director - plays Escalus, the Prince of Verona.
