“The Light We Share” is a film about creating the connections of vulnerable art in Chattanooga during the pandemic.
It was directed by Mattie Waters and Jules Downum, co-founders of The Pop-up Project - and curated by more than 50 local artists in 2020.
The following year, the film - and a making of documentary, “Essential: The Making of ‘The Light We Share,’” produced by our public media partner WTCI PBS - were screened at the Tivoli Theatre.
Since then, both works have been shown at film festivals across the country.
On Thursday, August 29th, WTCI PBS will present the broadcast premiere of “Essential” starting at 8 PM - followed by “The Light We Share” at 8:30 PM.
I spoke with Jules Downum - and Emily Compton, executive producer at WTCI PBS.
