Here in downtown Chattanooga, one piece of this city’s architectural history - the Car Barn on Market and Broad Streets - was recently demolished, and another - the Medical Arts Building on McCallie Ave. - is slated for the wrecking ball.

These buildings will be among the topics at this week’s Preservation Town Hall presented by Preserve Chattanooga - the historic preservation nonprofit now marking its fiftieth anniversary in this city - on Thursday, starting at 6 PM, at Second Presbyterian Church.

I spoke with Todd Morgan, executive director of Preserve Chattanooga - who also asked me to serve as moderator of the town hall.
