Kick Off the New Year With the 6th Annual Whiskey Run

Start the year with running, whiskey, and donuts — and support WUTC!

The 6th Annual Whiskey Run Chattanooga is back on New Year’s Day, giving runners a spirited start to 2026 along the Tennessee Riverwalk. The 5K, 10K, and half marathon all start and finish at the Boathouse Restaurant parking lot in downtown Chattanooga at 1459 Riverside Drive.

The Whiskey Run is partnering with WUTC this year to support local public radio. When runners register with the code WUTC15, the station receives a donation at no extra cost to participants. It's a simple way to help sustain WUTC’s programming while taking part in one of Chattanooga’s most fun New Year’s Day traditions.

Finishers get a shirt or hoodie, a Whiskey Series medal, and the kind of post-race reward you won’t find at every 5K: whiskey tasting, coffee, and donuts—with a few donuts designed to pair perfectly with the whiskey.

Walkers are welcome for all distances, with a course time limit of three and a half hours.

Packet pickup will be held at Chattanooga Fleet Feet on December 29th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and December 30th from 3 to 6 pm.

Race-day packet pickup is available from 7:30 to 9:00 am at The Boathouse Restaurant parking lot.

Runners can preview the course routes, aid station locations, awards, and age groups at the official event page. Aid stations will offer water, Gatorade, bananas, and gels. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age group.
