The Spooklights Headline Nightfall This Friday

Nightfall returns Friday with The Spooklights and Forlines, Hightower & Steele for an evening of free live music in downtown Chattanooga.

Nightfall’s free 2026 concert series continues this Friday night in Miller Plaza and Miller Park with Ozark stomp-grass headliner The Spooklights, and local opener Forlines, Hightower & Steele.

Nightfall has been a staple of summertime activity in downtown Chattanooga for 39 years, bringing together music fans of all kinds for free outdoor concerts every Friday through July 31st.

This week’s show features headliner The Spooklights at 8:00 PM, with local opener Forlines, Hightower & Steele beginning at 7:00 PM.

Come early at 6:00 PM to shop the art market in Miller Park and enjoy local food and drink vendors.

Headlining this week is The Spooklights, an “Ozark Stomp Grass” duo from Missouri featuring Ben Miller of the Ben Miller Band and Pat Kay of The Kay Brothers.

Formed in 2021 and renamed in 2023, the group mixes traditional Midwest mountain music, folklore, and roots instrumentation with futuristic homemade electronics to create what they call a “jangle-stomp” sound.

The Spooklights combine banjos, slide guitars, and electronic elements to craft a distinctive musical experience inspired by the mysterious Hornet Spooklight phenomenon near the Oklahoma-Missouri border.

Opening the show is Forlines, Hightower & Steele, featuring respected Chattanooga musicians Joel Forlines, B.J. Hightower, and Randy Steele. This local trio brings together some of the city’s top folk and bluegrass talent for a special collaborative performance, featuring guitar, bass, banjo, and strong vocal harmonies.

Nightfall also continues its tradition of offering a family-friendly downtown experience with local food trucks, brews, over 20 artisans, and kids’ activities throughout the evening.

Motorcycle parking will be available in the 800 block of Market Street, between 8th Street and M.L. King Boulevard.

Nightfall is produced locally by Chattanooga Presents, and has been a longtime underwriting partner of this station.
