'Dorothy Parker Would Not Approve' Is Stacy Chapman's Prize-Winning Debut Play

Last year, the Chattanooga Theatre Centre put out a call for scripts from new playwrights in the region.  They were looking for original, unpublished scripts for The Festival of New Plays.

A romantic comedy,Dorothy Parker Would Not Approve, won the grand prize, and it will be performed starting on Friday, March 13th.  Playwright Stacy Chapman and director Patrick Sweetman join us to talk about the play.

A romantic comedy set in a local watering hole, Stacy Chapman's Dorothy Parker Would Not Approve, examines what happens when Mary Burelle must make a decision over the future of her family's bar. This funny and moving play looks at the choice to stay safe with old friends or move into the unknown. Mature language and themes. Recommended for audiences 14 and up. Directed by Patrick Sweetman.
