Doom Flamingo played at Riverbend Music Festival on Sunday, June 4th, 2023. They were the first to play that day, having the 2:45 pm set on the Bud Light Stage. With hardly any clouds in the sky, the sun shone brightly. Festival attendees who arrived early staked their claim in the shaded area just in front of the stage. Despite the heat, both the crowd and the band brought incredible energy, with lead singer Kanika Moore’s powerful vocals pulling many passing festivalgoers into the Doom Flamingo crowd. Shortly after the festival, WUTC was able to speak with three of the members of the band: guitarist Thomas Kenney, drummer Sean Bing and keys player and background vocalist Ross Bogan. Together they talked about the formation of the band, playing 2 am festival sets, and how they balance touring life with home life.
