At Blackburn’s Rally, Trump Is Main Draw for Some
President Trump and Vice President Pence are appearing at 7 pm at UTC’s McKenzie Arena to support Republican candidate for Senate Marsha Blackburn.
Blackburn hopes to replace retiring Senator Bob Corker. She’s in a fierce race against Democrat Phil Bredesen, Tennessee’s former Governor. The candidates and outside groups have spent more than $80 million, and a recent poll shows no clear winner.
Crowds of people wearing red ball caps began lining up twelve hours before Trump’s rally.
For Sue Dixon, Trump is the main attraction—not Blackburn.
“I just love my President, thank God for him,” Dixon said.
A few blocks away from the rally, Bredesen is hosting his own campaign event.
