Season Ammons

Season Ammons grew up in New Braunfels, a city sitting between Austin and San Antonio in Texas. She began writing songs in her early teens, influenced by a mix of Top 40 hits and MTV. After high school, she left for Nashville. She called her four years there “my school of hard knocks.”

These days she lives in Destin in Florida, but she still plays regularly in Texas. She recorded the songs on her most recent album in Abbey Road, but she finished it in a studio in Wimberley, Texas. She describes herself as a “soulful acoustic singer/songwriter.” In her bio, she wrote: “My unique sound blends current pop, alternative blues country, and subtle hints of Motown into one smooth experience for the ear. My voice is groovy, slightly sensual, and gritty at times. My percussive approach to playing guitar is my signature style, which sets me apart as a woman in the competitive world of performing singer/songwriters.”

Richard Winham joined WUTC five years after the station began broadcasting to the Chattanooga area and the Tennessee Valley.
