In Dalton, The Spirit Of Juneteenth Gathers A Community

In Northwest Georgia, the Juneteenth celebration in Dalton has come far in less than a decade.

This year’s celebration features a summer concert for the holiday on Friday at 6:30 PM in Burr Park - and on Saturday, the Juneteenth Parade at 10 AM in downtown Dalton and the Juneteenth Gala at 6 PM at the Dalton Convention Center.

Marisa Kelly is president of the Dalton-Whitfield County chapter of the NAACP.
