Last month, Cempa Community Care broke ground on an expansion on Third Street here in Chattanooga - across from Erlanger Health’s flagship hospital.
The expansion, set for completion in 2027, will renovate a facility between Cempa’s main clinic and its dental clinic - bringing all of the nonprofit’s health services under one roof.
Cempa was founded in 1986 as Chattanooga CARES during the HIV / AIDS epidemic.
The recent groundbreaking celebrates the nonprofit’s legacy and its evolution over the years - and opens its next chapter.
Dr. Shannon Burger is Cempa’s CEO.
