Growth is key to revitalizing cities and neighborhoods - but what kind of growth?

Alan Mallach has grappled with that question as a city planner, advocate and writer with decades of experience in housing, economic development and urban revitalization.

Now a senior fellow at the Center for Community Progress in Washington, Alan is the next guest for CIVIQ, the speaker series from Chattanooga Design Studio.

His talk - “Growth for Whom? (Inequity and Urban Change)” - is this Thursday, starting at 5:30 PM at the downtown Chattanooga Public Library.

Here’s our full conversation with Alan - and Eric Myers, the Studio’s executive director.
