Point Park commemorates the soldiers who fought in the Civil War battles for Chattanooga in the fall of 1863.

It overlooks the Lookout Mountain Battlefield and the City of Chattanooga, as part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park.

On Thursday, September 7th, the nonprofit National Park Partners hosts its annual “National Treasures: Party at Point Park,” starting at 5:30 PM.

On Monday, September 18th, the Moccasin Bend Lecture Series returns to the Tennessee Aquarium’s IMAX 3D Theater - all lectures starting at 7 PM, free and open to the public.

Tricia Mims is executive director of National Park Partners.
