This spring, just in time for Earth Day, the City of Chattanooga earned the outdoor designation of National Park City.
It’s the first city in North America to attain that international status - which is not related to the U.S. National Park Service.
The month after that announcement, Mayor Tim Kelly named April Furth of Clark County, Washington as administrator for the City of Chattanooga’s Parks & Outdoors.
She began the job this summer, succeeding Scott Martin in that role.
