The Chattanooga Area Food Bank serves twenty counties here in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.

The Food Bank - coordinating with food pantries and other community nonprofits - is leading the emergency response in this region, amid the disruption of the Federal government shutdown and the suspension of SNAP benefits.

Melissa Blevins is president and CEO of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank - we spoke on Wednesday morning.
