Shaky Knees 2023: Interview with Greta Van Fleet

Shaky Knees Music Festival

Greta Van Fleet is a Michigan-born American rock band known for their flamboyant costumes, extravagant on-stage performances, and classic rock sound that pays homage to the greats of the ’70s and ’80s. The band features three brothers and a childhood friend who all grew up together, attending the same schools and even playing in the same high school band.

Forming a rock band was the lifelong dream of lead guitarist Jake Kiszka, one that required him to recruit his twin brother Josh for lead vocals and their younger brother Sam for bass and keys. Eventually, the brothers pulled in Sam’s childhood friend Danny Wagner, a very talented multi-instrumentalist who ironically did not know how to play the drums at the time. Danny, who admittedly loves learning new instruments, quickly mastered the kit to become an integral part of Greta Van Fleet.
