Presented by award-winning Georgia author Donna Coffey Little, “Wofford’s Blood: The Odyssey of a Cherokee Family” tell the true story behind her new book, which focuses on the life of James Daugherty Wofford- a mixed-race Cherokee boy who is caught up in the mounting tensions between Cherokee and Anglo-American worlds in early nineteenth century north Georgia. Wofford must come to grip with where his loyalties lie and the challenges of growing up in a society where racial slavery and its cultural consequence have increasingly becoming an establish part of everyday life.
Dr. Donna Coffey Little is a Professor of English at Reinhardt University and founded Reinhardt’s Etowah Valley Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing. Her historical novel Wofford's Blood was published by Mercer University Press in 2024. It was named Book of the Year by the Southern Literary Review and Best Historical Novel of 2024 by the national Independent Press Association. Her other publications include the poetry chapbook Fire Street as well as creative nonfiction essays, poems and scholarly articles in StorySouth, Tiferet, Georgia Backroads, Calyx, The Atlanta Review, The Florida Review, Women’s Studies, Modern Fiction Studies, and Contemporary Women’s Writing.

Over the next eight weeks, WaterWays will monitor local waterways and share timely updates to help keep the community informed about current water conditions, potential concerns, and the importance of protecting our shared water resources. Main Gallery: 2025 Best in Show: Danyelle Woods (Title TBD)
Danyelle Woods received “Best in Show” in the 2025 Annual Juried Exhibition for her work Memory Map I. Danyelle’s work is a combination of known and unknown forms, created with organic materials made by the earth.
Landis Education Gallery: 2025 Juror’s Choices: Jeweli Eslinger, Meredith Olinger and Andy Brooks (Title TBD)
Eslinger, Olinger and Brooks were each selected by the Jury of the 2025 Juried Show as recipients of the “Juror’s Choice Award.” Jeweli Eslinger is an abstract artist working in a street art and graffiti aesthetic. Meredith Olinger is a mixed media artist who works with bold patterns through wallpaper that she designs, create, and prints using both digital and hand-printing along with some collage techniques. Brooks is a photographer who creates abstract, filtered images of mundane, household objects printed at a large scale.
