Selina Stone is a fourth grade teacher of English as a New Language at East Lake Elementary here in Chattanooga.

This summer, she was one of eleven teachers in the Hamilton County Schools who traveled to different countries around the world through fellowships they designed to enrich student learning.

The fellowships are a partnership between the Public Education Foundation here in Chattanooga and Fund for Teachers, a nonprofit in Houston for innovative preK through 12 teachers across the country.

For her fellowship, Selina traveled to Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, to study approaches in teaching English.

I spoke with her soon after her return to Chattanooga this summer.
